Retail
The retail business comprises three METRO Department Stores in Singapore and another five department stores in Jakarta and Bandung, Indonesia. The METRO shopping brand is a familiar household name in the region and offers a wide selection of fashion apparel, accessories, cosmetics, and home items including designers and famous brands over 900,000 square feet of downtown and suburban retail space.

Outlook
The retail division will continue to contribute positively with the three department stores in Singapore and five in Indonesia seeking to show improved sales and profit contribution as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary in Singapore.

Efforts to expand the business operations in Indonesia sees the opening of M Pacific Place, an upmarket fashion store in Jakarta in 2008.  In 2009, another 20,000 sqm Metro store will open at Gandaria in Jakarta; a flagship Metro store of 30,000 sqm in 2010 also in Jakarta; with more stores in other Indonesian cities, from 2009.
